-A Neillsville woman accused of being involved in several scams with local businesses and organizations was sentenced for the crimes on Monday.Korinia Feight of Neillsville has been accused of scamming money from local businesses, churches and organizations in Neillsville, Granton, Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids and more.
Feight had several charges filed against her in six separate cases. In the end, she entered a no contest plea, and was found guilty of, one count of theft of movable property, one count of misappropriate ID info to obtain money, one count of threats to injure/accuse of a crime, one count of knowingly trafficking food stamps and two counts of felony bail jumping. Two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping, four counts of felony bail jumping, two counts of theft of moveable property, two counts of threat to injure/accuse of a crime and one count of misappropriate ID info to obtain money were dismissed and read in.
The Assistant District Attorney disagreed with the PSI, which had only recommended probation, and asked for a total of 2 years in prison and 3 years extended supervision. The defense asked the judge to follow the PSI and sentence probation. After hearing from Feight and her family present, the Judge sentenced her to a total of 4 years' probation. He also set an imposed and stayed sentence of 3.5 years in prison and 1.5 years of extended supervision. This means that if Feight fails probation, she will go to prison for 3.5 years, if not longer. The judge noticed that the only time Feight successfully complete probation in the past was when she had an imposed and stayed prison sentence looming over her. That is why he went with this sentence.
