Loyal School Board Approves Allowing Voluntary Mask Wearing at the District
Monday, April 26th, 2021 -- 12:01 PM
The Loyal School Board approved a change to the district’s mask mandate.
During the April 21st school board meeting, the Board moved to make face coverings voluntary for both students and staff members. The meeting was recorded, so if you would like to watch the proceedings you are able to do this on either Greyhound TV, which is found on the District website, or on the school district’s YouTube channel.
They realize that there are parents who feel strongly both ways about face coverings and they will make every effort to support your decision about them while your child is in the school building. Please contact the elementary office if you would like your child to continue wearing a face covering.
They will compile a list for all the teachers. Their goal is to respectfully support all the children no matter if they do or don’t wear a face covering. Face coverings are still required for students who use the school bus per federal order Section 361 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 264) and 42 Code of Federal Regulations 70.2, 71.31(b), 71.32(b).
Since the Federal government regulates this order, concerns should be addressed by calling the CDC office at 1-800-232-4636 Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
