Donations at Neillsville City Council Meeting
Thursday, December 10th, 2015 -- 8:14 AM
-The Neillsville City Council approved the distribution of Listeman Funds at their meeting on Tuesday. The city received funds for a couple items and distributed the money into the appropriate accounts. They received $25,000 for a fire and rescue van for the Fire Department and $20,000 for the Listeman Park Bathroom project.
The council also approved an anonymous $1,500 donation for the Police Department. $400 of that donation was designated for a body camera for Neillsville Police Chief Scott Klueckmann. When he first started the program, he tried to keep the cost down by giving camera to his patrolmen and not getting one for himself as he spends most of his time in the office. With this donation he can have one as well. The remainder of that money went toward the city's K-9 fund.
The council also approved carrying over a $1,668 donation from the Chris Boyer Scholarship Fund. That money was meant for special training for the Neillsville officers for Crisis Intervention and Training. The officers were scheduled to do this in December, but a scheduling conflict arose and they won't be able to do it now until June of 2016. That donation will be used then.
