Name of Man Killed in Semi vs. Car Crash in Marathon County Released

-The man killed in a semi vs. car crash in Marathon County Tuesday night has been identified.The accident happened on Highway 29 at the Highway 97 exit south of Athens around 8:30pm. According to the Marathon County Sheriff's Department, the 29-year-old male driver, Paul Hammond of Minneapolis, lost control of his vehicle while traveling west on Highway 29 when he struck the back of a semi.
Hammond later died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Authorities say Hammond was driving too fast for the conditions that night as Highway 29 was icy and slippery.
