(WKOW) -Authorities have identified the girl who died in a Monday crash on the interstate near Madison. The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office says she is 10-year-old Jadah Wright of Black River Falls. Wright died at a Madison hospital on Wednesday.According to WKOW, the Wisconsin State Patrol says that around 10:30 Monday morning, a Honda Civic had stopped on the median on I-39 southbound near County V because of possible car problems. When the Honda attempted to move back into traffic, it was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado. State police say the second driver, Ashley Imme, 22 of New Berlin, was unable to avoid the crash because other traffic was blocking her view.
The Honda went into the median, rolled over and landed on its wheels. It had severe rear end damage. The pick-up truck also had severe front end damage. The driver of the pick-up truck was not hurt.
The driver of the Honda, 16-year-old Esperanza J. Cook from South Milwaukee was taken to UW Hospital, but is expected to be okay. Two of her passengers, 34-year-old Teresa Greengrass from Black River Falls and 19-year-old Emilio Christopher Fregoso of Wauwatosa were also taken to UW Hospital with injuries, but will be okay.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says no one in the Honda was wearing a seat belt. The crash is still under investigation by the state patrol reconstruction unit.
