Black River Falls Man Sentenced

A Black River Falls man accused of murdering his girlfriend was sentenced for the crime in Jackson County Court on Wednesday.Back in 2013, prosecutors claim that Michael Harmon intentionally shot and killed Angela Nelson at their apartment in Black River Falls. Harmon claims that he and Nelson were fighting all day and he accidentally shot her during a struggle over a gun.
Harmon was sentenced to 25 years in prison and 15 years of extended supervision. Harmon was initially charged with 1st degree intentional homicide, but eventually pleaded no contest to 2nd degree reckless homicide and being a felon in possession of a firearm after the District Attorney and Defense Attorney were able to strike a deal.
