Memorial Medical Center Making Changes to Loyal Clinic

Tuesday, November 24th, 2015 -- 1:17 PM

-Memorial Medical Center is making a few changes to their Loyal Clinic.

Ryan Neville, MMC's CEO, talked about what those change are and why they're being made.

"The changes to the Loyal Clinic include an expansion of Occupational Health Services which would include pre-employment services such as audio grams, wellness checks and drug testing, so that our local employers have easier access to help get the pre-employment status accomplished quicker."

"Second, is an expansion of our Rehabilitation Program. Our Physical and Occupational Therapy Programs in Loyal continue to grow to a need where we need both PT and OT there 5 days a week. So, our goal is to expand our rehab, expand our Occupational Health Services and, as a result, decrease our Family Practice hours that we have at the Loyal Clinic."

"And really why we're doing this is we looked at our data and we looked at our trending over the last 4 years. We have a Greenwood Clinic Family Practice about 7 miles away that is growing. We have the Family Practice Clinic in Loyal which we've finally gotten some consistent staffing there in Michael Conard."

"However, the practice isn't growing as anticipated and there's probably numerous reasons for that. And so, as we reached out to the local community, we asked the question of what does the community need? And those folks who have responded and met with us were very clear. We would love to have more therapy and we'll use the Greenwood Clinic for Family Practice. And it's probably the best advice we could receive because now these two clinics are going to compliment each other versus compete."

Mr. Neville said that this change is not a reduction, but a remodel to better help meet the needs of Clark County.

"I think these changes reflect how in touch Memorial Medical Center is with our local communities. And, hopefully, 6 months from now everyone is happy with the changes we're making. We don't see it as a reduction, it's more of a remodel and revamping our strategy to meet the needs of Clark County."

The changes at MMC's Loyal Clinic will be effective on January 1st of 2016.
