November is National Adoption Month, Part 3

Thursday, November 19th, 2015 -- 11:30 AM

-The Holidays are upon us and it can be a difficult time for childless couples trying to adopt a baby to make their family complete.

November is National Adoption Month and there have been many changes to the adoption process in recent years. I spoke with Cassie Ronning, a Catholic Charities Adoption Social Worker, and Wisconsin native Katie, who's trying to adopt a baby with her husband. Katie talked about how the adoption process has been.

"Working with Catholic Charities has been great, but it's very emotional. Especially, after years of trying to have a baby and fertility treatments and then being faced with potential years of waiting for adoption. It's just very emotional. So, we just try to stay positive and appreciate all the wonderful things in our lives and the support system we have of great family and great friends who help us stay positive. And we just believe, that when the time is right, we will have a baby placed with us and we'll be so blessed and thankful. And we just try to look at as appreciating the journey and not just the destination."

Coming up on Friday, Cassie and Katie will provide some final thoughts on National Adoption Month.
