USDA March Egg Production Report

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Egg production in Wisconsin during the month of March totaled 190 million eggs.
According to the USDA's latest Chickens and Eggs report, that was up one percent from last year and 11 percent over the previous month. The average number of all layers on hand was 7.67 million, up slightly from March 2020 and February 2021. Eggs per 100 layers were 2,481, two percent lower for the year, but 11 percent more for the month.
Nationally, egg output totaled 9.54 billion in March, down slightly from last year. The average number of layers in the U.S. totaled 393 million, down one percent from 2020.
