Owen City Council Discusses Work Done on a Home in the City

Wednesday, November 18th, 2015 -- 8:16 AM

-The Owen City Council discussed work being done on some property in the city at their meeting last week.

Bob Christenson met with the Council via conference telephone call regarding a home on 319 E. 2nd Street. Bob reported he talked to one of Dan Parker's sons and they are working on the house getting ready to re-roof and paint. The Council and Owen Police Department felt that they are not making enough progress fast enough. The council approved to have the Owen Police Department visit with Dan Parker and indicate that he has until Wednesday, November 18th to complete the roof and wall in the house on the East side. If he does not comply, the Police Department will begin issuing citations.

The council also approved that the building at 537 E. 3rd Street has been torn down and leveled. And Tim Swiggum reported that the County would like the Council to review the Clark County Hazard Mitigation Plan and vote on the resolution to adopt it at the next Council meeting. The council tabled the issue until the next meeting.
