Owen City Council Approves Resignation of Ward 1 Alderman

-The Owen City Council approved the resignation of their Ward 1 Alderman at their meeting last week.The council was made aware of this at their last meeting, but they received an official resignation letter from Patrick Pfeffer stating his resignation. The council then approved the Mayoral Appointment of Stephen Heggemeier to be the Ward 1 Alderman and the City Clerk performed the Oath of Office.
Owen Police Chief Andrew Schade advised the Council that he will be holding his 1st coffee with the cop at Creekside on November 13th from 10 am to 12 pm. The Public Works Director, Erik Stinson reported that the manhole on 5th and Coleman has been replaced. There was a water leak on 6th Street and the City put in new sidewalk in front of the Dollar General.
Finally, during the Public Opinion portion of the meeting, the owner of the OW Enterprise Newspaper, Nathan LePage, questioned the Council about when they knew about Louks being investigated. Louks had intended on purchasing some building in Owen's Business Park.
