The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved the 2016 county budget and levy at their meeting on Tuesday. There were no public appearances for the budget. And they approved the budget with proposed expenditures coming to $66,038,395 and proposed revenues coming to $43,629,293. Fund balances in the amount of $7,668,761 were applied to reduce the levy. This led to a final levy of $14,740,341 for the county which comes to a mil rate of $8.06 for a $100,000 home.
There were a couple amendments to the budget that were made and approved before the final budget and levy was. The first was moving $10,000, originally meant for the airport, to the Sherwood Lake dredging project. The second was taking over $62,000 out of the Sheriff's Budget, which was meant for a project, and putting it back into the general fund. It was decided that more discussion was needed on the project and it will be completed at a later time.
