Neillsville Fire Department Responds to a Report of a Gas Odor at a Local Business Tuesday Evening

-The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a report of a gas odor at a Neillsville business on Tuesday evening.The call came in just before 7pm reporting a gas odor at Cummins Filtration in Neillsville. When they arrived, they detected a slight gas odor in the building. The maintenance worker shut down the gas main going into the building and the fire department ordered an evacuation of the building while they waited for WE Energies.
WE Energies arrived to further assess the situation and repair any leak. The department had to leave the situation in the hands of WE Energies and the plant manager as they were paged to another call.
