Neillsville Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire Tuesday Evening

-The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in Neillsville on Tuesday evening.The second call came in around 7:30pm reporting a structure fire on East 4th Street here in Neillsville. When they arrived, they saw heavy smoke coming from an upstairs bedroom window. They entered through a back stairway and extinguished the fire.
They were on scene for 2 hours and there was heavy smoke, fire and water damage to the upstairs and some significant water damage to the lower level of the home. The Neillsville Fire Chief said he believes the fire started due to some electrical issues the owners were facing earlier that evening.
There were no injuries on their part and they had stand by with the Neillsville Police Department and Neillsville Ambulance Service.
