Well Water Testing Opportunity for Clark County Residents, Part 1

-Clark County residents have a fantastic opportunity, provided by the Clark County UW-Extension Office, to have their water tested at a reduced cost.The department will be offering water testing to county residents so you can know what's in your well water.
Melissa Kono, CNRED Agent for Clark County, talked about why this testing is a good idea.
"It would be nice, considering all the agriculture that we have in Clark County, to do this broad testing of all our wells just to ensure that our water supply is safe. And what's nice, even if people aren't concerned that there water is contaminated right now, it's nice to establish a base line. That way, if there's ever a problem in the future, you have something to compare it to. You can see that you tested your water in 2015 and it was fine and then, however many years later, if something should change, or you get new neighbors or something, and your water becomes contaminated, you have something to fall back on."
Coming up on Monday, Melissa will explain why people shouldn't be worried about treatment costs if something is discovered in their well water.
