Thursday, November 5th, 2015 -- 8:14 AM
(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -FFA members who qualified as national finalists for proficiency awards during the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, last week also had an opportunity to apply for an educational trip to Costa Rica. Some local Wisconsin students that earned the opportunity to attend the trip next summer include Ashley Zimmerman of Spencer for Agricultural Education and Kenny Pettit of Granton for Forest Management & Products. Zimmerman was also named a national winner in their proficiency award area at last week's convention.
Costa Rica is an ideal agricultural tour site as it includes some of the most diverse agriculture and geography in the world. Participants will visit a banana farm, pineapple plantation, several of the country's large and small production farms, a coffee plantation, a forest biological reserve and rainforests.
