-The Wisconsin Wins program is a state-level initiative designed to decrease youth access to tobacco products.Since the campaign's launch in the spring of 2002, tobacco compliance checks have been conducted annually in each of Wisconsin's 72 counties. The Clark County Public Health Department has recognized many county retailers for passing a tobacco compliance check in 2015.
In Abbotsford, Abarrotes La China, Abbotsford Travel Stop BP, Holiday Gas Station and La Tropicana passed the check. The Abbyland Truck Stop in Curtiss passed. The Cenex C-Store in Dorchester passed. In Greenwood, Family Dollar and Kwik Trip passed. In Loyal, Kwik Trip and Loyal BP passed. Several places in Neillsville passed including Cenex C-Store, Drescher BP Oil, Kwik Trip, Hansen's IGA and Family Dollar. The Creekside Convenience and O-W Sports & Liquor Store passed in Owen, Mobil Mart in Withee passed and the Specialty Smoke Shoppe in Thorp also passed.
At each of these locations, a minor attempted to purchase a pack of cigarettes and was unsuccessful. Employees refusing to complete these sales exhibited both job competence and regard for the law.
