Owen City Council Accepts Alderman Resignation

-The Owen City Council approved the resignation of one of their alderman at their meeting last week.Owen's mayor reported that he had received a verbal resignation from Alderman Patrick Pfeffer of Ward 1. The council approved Pfeffer's verbal resignation and the city clerk will try to collect a written letter. The council also approved the Mayoral Appointment of Brian Hederer, employee of Kerry Ingredients, to the Owen-Withee Sewer Commission to fill the vacancy left by Dennis Anderson.
Owen Police Chief Andrew Schade reported that his department was awarded a DOT grant of $4,000 for the Click it or Ticket Program. The City will need to match the grant with $1,000 and traffic related items will be purchased with the funds. The council approved to accept the DOT grant award. Police Chief Andrew Schade also reported that the DARE Program is being brought back. Chief Schade would like to send Officer Stubbe to the training in Minnesota and it's an 80 hour program. The council tabled that item for the time being.
Finally, it was reported that all self-assessments and evaluations have been reviewed and met with Supervisors for city employees. Wages are tentative at this point and another meeting will be held to make the final decisions.
