Owen Man Sentenced for High Speed Chase

-An Owen man charged with escaping from the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center, stealing a car, running from authorities and crashing the car into a garage was sentenced for the charges against him.According to the criminal complaint, on May 16th, two Clark County deputies were dispatched to the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center after a nurse informed them that 20-year-old Ty Lanz had escaped with two other individuals. Lanz escaped and stole a vehicle in Owen while the two other individuals were caught. Lanz led authorities on a high speed chase that reached speeds of 100mph. Eventually, Lanz crashed into a vehicle sitting in a driveway near Stanley.
Lanz has numerous charges against him. Back in August, Lanz was found guilty of battery and taking and driving a vehicle without consent due to a guilty plea. A charge of disorderly conduct, theft of movable property, two counts of criminal damage to property and a charge of vehicle operator fleeing or eluding an officer were dismissed and read in. And two more counts of criminal damage to property, resisting or obstructing an officer and 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety were dismissed on the prosecutor's motion.
Lanz was sentenced to 9 months in jail and he also had an imposed and stayed sentence of almost 4 years in prison which he'd have to serve if he fails any conditions of his probation. He was sentenced to 3 years' of extended supervision and a total imposed sentence of 4 years' probation.
