-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the 3rd Friday count numbers at their meeting on Monday.District Administrator Bob Houts presented to the Board the 2015 3rd Friday count numbers for District enrollment. Highlights from the report show that they have 509 students in the schools. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction counts the early childhood students count for one half of a student and the 4K kids count for .6 of student. This means that for the DPI count we have 495 Full Time Equivalent students. Summer School added 7 students this year, so our enrollment for aid purposes is 502. This is down one student from last year.
Mr. Houts also presented to the Board the information, provided by the Department of Revenue, stating the property valuation in the District. The district's property values for 2015 are $208,011,300. This is an increase of about 2.1% over the $203,755,430 valuation of 2014. Finally, Mr. Houts stated that the DPI has certified the district's state aid for 2015-16 at $3,259,464. This is down about $33,000 from last year's aid amount of $3,292,370.
