Governor Walker Announces Funding for Black River Falls Airport

-Governor Scott Walker announced $351,351 to fund engineering and construction work at Black River Falls Area Airport.Kim Kaarto, airport engineering specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, said that the project will evaluate the existing airfield electrical infrastructure and repair or replace it if necessary.
In order to pay for the project, the state will pay $17,117, the City of Black River Falls will pay $17,117 and the Federal Aviation Administration will pay $317,117. The project should be complete by fall 2016.
Black River Falls Area Airport is one of 98 facilities included in the Wisconsin State Airport System Plan, which makes it eligible for state and federal funding. Airport improvement projects are administered through WisDOT's Bureau of Aeronautics.
