Unity Man Enters Plea for False Imprisonment Charges

-A man accused of barricading himself in a bedroom with two young girls while armed with a knife entered a plea in Marathon County Court on Tuesday.Ben Chapa, of Unity, was charged with two counts of false imprisonment, false emergency 911 call, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. The girls with Chapa were 7 and 10 years old. Sheriff's deputies forced their way into the home because they believed the girls were in imminent danger.
Chapa was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, false emergency 911 call, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. The two false imprisonment charges were dismissed and read in. A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered and he's scheduled for sentencing on January 7th.
