Small Business Development Center Provides Assistance to Clark County

At the recent Annual Meeting of the Clark County Economic Development Corporation, those in attendance heard an update from the Small Business Development Center.
The SBDC office covering Clark County works out of UW-Eau Claire. With the COVID-19 pandemic, they’ve been busy. In the last 12 months, in Clark County, the SBDC has helped 26 clients, provided $1.46 million in client financing and capital investments, and helped 2 businesses start.
Overall, for 2020, they helped 281 clients, provided $8.1 million, and helped 21 businesses get started. So far this year, they’ve helped 174 clients, provided $5.23 million, and helped 22 businesses get started, meaning they’re well on their way to surpassing last year’s numbers.
Through December of last year, they provided 244 We’re All In grants/loans coming to $927,500. Through June of last year, they provided 517 PPP Loans in the first round coming to $15.8 million. In the next round, they provided 62 PPP Loans, with a range of $20.9-$51 million.
