Wood County Agencies Search for Man Who Had Fled from Home After Drug Use

-Multiple Wood County agencies were involved in the search of a 21-year-old that had possibly overdosed and fled from his home.The Wood County Dispatch received a call just after 9pm on Tuesday from a caller stating their son had possibly overdosed on drugs and fled their home on foot. They couldn't locate him. The Wood County Sheriff's Department, Rock Fire Department and Marshfield Fire Department arrived at the scene, but couldn't locate him.
They received more assistance from the Marshfield Spirit Air, Pittsville Fire Department, Richfield Fire Department, Lincoln Fire Department and Wardens from the DNR. They searched over 8 square miles of wooded area.
Finally, they found the subject walking down County Highway V several hours later. He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, treated and released.
