-Marshfield Area United Way is recruiting volunteers to participate in National Make a Difference Day, Saturday, October 24th from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.On that morning, participants will be raking leaves for elderly and disabled Marshfield residents in need of assistance with their yards. Make A Difference Day is a great event to help out your community with friends, family, classmates, church groups and/or co-workers. Volunteers interested in helping on this day can register by contacting the Marshfield Area United Way.
Volunteers are asked to register in advance so United Way can estimate how many lawns can be raked during the event. Volunteers will gather at Marshfield Area United Way at 8:30 the morning of the 24th to receive instructions and lawn assignments. United Way asks that volunteers bring their own rakes and have their own transportation. A light snack and water will be provided.
Residents in need of assistance with their lawns should call United Way to see if they qualify for assistance. Please note, anyone receiving help on this day must be home on the morning of October 24. Additionally, residents are responsible for providing enough leaf bags to bag all the leaves raked by the volunteers.
