Wisconsin's Dairy Plants Make History

The USDA reports that Wisconsin's dairy plants have made history by producing more cheese products each month than the same period a year prior for 12 straight months.The latest dairy product summary by USDA notes that Wisconsin produced 251.5 million pounds of cheese in August--which was up 5.3 percent from August 2014, but 3.8 percent less than this past July.
Nationally, 974 million pounds of cheese was produced in the United States. That was 3.5 percent more than the same month last year, but 1.7 percent below the previous month's production totals.
Dry Whey output in Wisconsin was recorded at 25.8 million pounds, which was up 14.7 percent from last year, but 6.8 percent lower from last month
