Corn Prices Receieved By Farmers Is Down

The average price received by farmers for corn in Wisconsin during August was $3.67 per bushel, according to the latest USDA Agricultural Prices report.That was down 11-cents from the July price and 13-cents lower than August 2014. Soybean prices were $9.57 per bushel, down 22-cents from a month earlier and $2.93 below year-ago levels. The August oat price was $1.79 per bushel, down 43-cents from July and $1.68 below August 2014.
All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $91.00 per ton, up $7.00 for the month, but but $42.00 less than last year. The alfalfa hay price averaged $104.00 per ton, $16.00 above July, but $36.00 below the previous August. The other hay price averaged $54.00, down $20.00 from July and $46.00 below last year.
