High Volume Heroin Dealer Arrested by Marathon County Sheriff's Department and Marshfield Police Department

-The Marathon County Sheriff's Department Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and Marshfield Police Department have made an arrest in connection with the investigation into a high volume Heroin dealer and trafficker in the Cities of Wausau and Marshfield.A traffic stop resulted in the seizure of approximately eighty (80) grams of high grade Heroin and the arrest of 24-year-old Melvin Dunomes. The traffic stop concluded a long term Heroin trafficking investigation. The amount of Heroin seized reflects the problems both communities are experiencing with the ongoing Heroin epidemic spreading across Wisconsin. The number of Heroin overdoses and deaths is on the rise in both communities. The Heroin seized amounts to approximately 1,600 doses. The street value of that amount is estimated at $80,000.00.
The target of the investigation was on Parole after recently being released from prison for convictions of Possession of Marijuana and Cocaine. At this time, Melvin Dunomes is in custody at the Marathon County Jail in connection with the incident. He will be charged with several offenses, including but not limited to possession of heroin with intent to deliver, maintaining a drug trafficking place and parole violations.
