Owen-Withee School Board discussed items brought up by the Teacher Negotiations Committee

The board's Teacher Negotiations Committee met to discuss the 5 concerns brought forward by the OWEA. After discussion on each item, the committee agreed to bring two of the items to the full board for approval. Increasing the wages of the veteran teachers to the new teacher wage and the elimination of the 3 day maximum of sick day use to care for a sick child are items the committee supported that the board voted on. A vote to implement these changes will be taken at the Oct. board meeting.The board also review the Summer Project list wrap up. Don Boening and the custodial staff are to be complimented on their efforts this summer. All items on the summer maintenance list have been completed except a small partition for the women's bathroom that is on order and the masonry work that needs to be done on the ceiling in the boiler room. This project will be completed when a vapor barrier and insulation can be installed to prevent the condensation from the freezer above that ceiling to prevent it from reoccurring.
