Loyal School Board Makes Handbook Changes

-The Loyal School Board made some changes in their handbook at their meeting on Wednesday evening.It was decided that members of the Support Staff will work on in-service days either on preparing for upcoming projects or participating in necessary trainings and Support Staff members will be paid for qualifying holidays. The requirement that they work the day before and the day after has been removed from the handbook.
Also, the verbiage in the handbook related to the annual letter of appointment for support staff members has been changed. Before school ends each year, support staff members will receive a letter saying that the district intends to continue their employment the following year in the same position.
The board also decided that graduation for this school year will be on Saturday, May 28th of 2016, the FFA trip to the National Convention next month was approved and there will be a Strategic Planning meeting on October 7 at 7:00 pm in the HS Library. At this meeting, they district and board will begin the process of setting their goals for the next 5 years.
