(AP) -Democrat Russ Feingold and Republican Ron Johnson are both trying to re-introduce themselves to Wisconsin voters as they head toward a rematch in a race for the U.S. Senate. Both have traveled to all 72 of Wisconsin's counties more than a year before the election. It will be a rematch of the 2010 race where the newcomer Johnson defeated the 18-year incumbent Feingold. Feingold says an election should be about what's happening now and in the future, not the past.
But Johnson and Republicans are trying to cast Feingold as a hypocrite, in part for breaking a 1992 pledge to raise the majority of money for the race from donors in Wisconsin. The race is seen as crucial to deciding which party will have majority control of the Senate.
