Neillsville Woman Charged in Animal Neglect Case

-A Neillsville woman has had animal neglect charges filed against her after an incident that occurred back in August.The incident began when authorities received a report of animals running at large on a farm near Neillsville. They discovered that the animals were without water in 90 degree heat and humidity. After obtaining a search warrant, authorities returned and discovered over 43 dogs living in deplorable conditions in the home. They also removed 6 horses who were underfeed and in poor medical condition.
According to court records, Carolyn Christie has been charged with 26 counts in relation to this incident including intentionally mistreating animals. She'll be in court tomorrow morning for an initial appearance.
