Committee Reports at Neillsville's City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Committee reports at their meeting on Tuesday.The next committee report they heard was from the Commission on Economic Development meeting held on September 1st. The commission heard the proposed budget for the new Connect Communities Committee. They also discussed the difference between the Connect Communities Committee and the Neillsville Improvement Corporation.
They also discussed housing and the gap Neillsville has in providing affordable housing or apartments for those looking for it. With businesses in the area expanding, there isn't enough housing for people to move into. It was also stated that the County Economic Development Corporation has seen this as well all over the county.
The commission then ended the meeting by discussing the budget for 2016. There was a fairly significant increase from the 2015 budget of $25,050 to 2016's budget of $31,433. The biggest reason for the increase was in the programs line of the budget which now includes the Connect Communities Program.
