Heavy Rains Causing Headaches for Clark County

Tuesday, September 8th, 2015 -- 8:14 AM

-Clark County, as well as neighboring counties, have been dealing with the aftermath of heavy rains that moved through the area Sunday night into early Monday morning.

Heavy rains associated with those storms caused flash flooding in several areas of northwestern Wisconsin. Some of the damage in the county included Butler Road in Rock Dam. The road is closed due to undermining of the road at the bridge below the dam. The Town of Seif declared an emergency after residents along Strangfeld Road were stranded due to a culvert washout.

County Road M is closed north of County Road I due to culvert washouts and will remain closed until repairs are made. County Hwy I from Haycreek to Hwy 10 has water over the road. There were also reports of undermining of the roadway on County Road B west of US highway 12/27 near Humbird and the Town of South Foster has declared a State of Emergency.

Several neighboring counties have also seen damage due to flooding and have declared emergencies in some areas. And that threat continues this morning as heavy rains move through. Clark, Jackson, Eau Claire, Marathon and Wood Counties are all under Flash Flood Watches or Warnings until early this afternoon. As always, if you come across a road with water over it, turn around, don't drown.
