Sunday, September 6th, 2015 -- 9:16 AM
With the first of several deer hunting seasons less than a week away, the Wisconsin DNR is out with a report on prospects for hunters this year. The archery season for deer starts next Saturday and the gun deer season is in November. The DNR said hunters in the west central farmland and zones can expect to see more deer this year compared to last year.
Deer numbers in the west central forest zone are expected to be the same, or slightly better than last year.
In northern Wisconsin, the DNR said a milder winter and early spring means hunters should see more deer and bigger racks on bucks.
