Farmland Preservation Report at Clark County Board of Supervisors Meeting
Friday, August 28th, 2015 -- 11:40 AM
-The Clark County Board of Supervisors heard two reports and a presentation to begin their meeting on Thursday of last week. One was about revisions to the county's Farmland Preservation Plan. This was approved by the board in 2014. The plan is used as a guide to preserving farmland, it helps protect the environment and those that are a part of the program can get a tax credit.
A committee was created to see what farmers would like to see in the plan moving forward and other topics in regards to farming. This committee has created goals and objectives for moving forward and they plan on creating maps of land for preservation.
The group plans on holding public hearings in October and from there, they will bring the information back to the county committees and Board of Supervisors.
