Funds Distribution and an Insurance Claim at Neillsville City Council Meeting
Wednesday, August 26th, 2015 -- 9:19 AM
-It was a relatively quiet night for the Neillsville City Council.During their meeting on Tuesday, the council approved the distribution of Listeman Funds, totaling $1,000, to be used for Christmas Decorations. They also approved the distribution of Listeman/Naedler Funds, totaling $5,500, to be used for new video equipment in city hall for the council room.
The council also disallowed an insurance claim as recommended by their insurance provider. Recently, a sewer main collapse caused some back up in the basement of a Neillsville resident. The resident went to her insurance company who pick up the bill, which ranged somewhere between $5,000-$5,500 and now her company is asking the city to pay them back.
However, the city's insurance has denied the claim saying that the city was not directly responsible for causing the collapse, so they are not responsible for the repair cost.
