Tuesday, August 25th, 2015 -- 10:20 AM
-The Neillsville School Board held their Annual Meeting on Monday night. The meeting began with a presentation by Neillsville District Administrator John Gaier. Mr. Gaier talked about the issues that school districts face including the expansion of the voucher program, lack of funding and other items added into Wisconsin's recently passed budget.
There was a small turnout for this particular meeting; however one couple present did offer their thoughts on public schools and why they chose to send their children to a private school. But, they did compliment the district saying they like what they see happening at Neillsville and they really enjoy living in the area.
In the end, those present voted to approve the 2015-16 School Tax Levy of $3,641,489 which was a .8% increase over last year's $3,612,469.
