Clark County Board of Supervisors Agrees to a Trade of County Land
Monday, August 24th, 2015 -- 9:30 AM
-The Clark County Board of Supervisors agreed to trade some county Forest Land at their meeting last week. The first was for land in the Town of Mentor. Chase Collins was asking to trade some land he owns off County Highway 10 and Hickman Road. In return, he would get a square of the county land. Also, once the county received this land, they would enter it into County Forest Crop Law and the land they'd be trading would be removed from it.
There was some slight opposition to this as the man trading it is looking into a frack sand mine. But, it was stated that he's going forward with this regardless of whether or not he gets the land. Plus, residents in the area were already given an opportunity to voice their concerns. It was stated that this is being done more for safety reasons regarding Hickman Road than anything else.
