Owen-Withee School Board Approves Base Wage Increase

-The Owen-Withee School Board approved base wage negotiations at their meeting last week.The OWEA and the District negotiations team met and came to a tentative settlement for a base wage increase of 1.62 % for teachers for the 2015-16 school year. The Board unanimously approved this agreement. The OWEA will vote on August 27th to approve or not.
Also, the OWEA and the District negotiations team met and came to a tentative settlement for a base wage increase of 1.62 % for support staff for the 2015-16 school year. The Board unanimously approved this agreement. The OWEA will vote in the next couple of weeks whether to approve or not.
Finally, while the Board and the OWEA cannot negotiate items in the Employee Handbook, the teachers can bring item to the Board's attention for them to consider changing. The Board formed a committee to review the five concerns the teachers have brought forward for consideration and will meet to discuss the issues.
