Public Works Report at Owen City Council Meeting

-The Owen City Council heard the Public Works Report and a couple park proposals at their meeting last week.Public Works has been working on trouble trees in the city, a few inspections for sump pumps have been completed and the department has worked on a phosphorus report due to the DNR. The bathroom building at Crowley campground was painted as well.
A flooding issue was discussed regarding a city property. The 30" culvert put in at County Highway X by the county created a larger amount of water flow. With the recent down pours, the smaller culvert of a nearby resident couldn't handle all the water so it was decided that public works and the resident will need to change their culverts for larger ones.
The Chairman of the city's Parks Committee was present to explain the proposals received for repairing the burned rail road bridge and for the warming house. The council approved the bid received from Edblom Construction of $14, 232.75 for the bridge repair and they tabled the proposal of $4,645.90 for alterations to the warming shed for more information.
