Owen City Council Approves New Sign for Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center

-The Owen City Council heard more about a new electronic sign at the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center at their meeting last week.This item had been tabled during their July 28th meeting until more information was available. Fred Schindler, a Supervisor on the Clark County Board reported to the Council that with the recent name change of the Clark County Health Care Center to Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center and the age of the their current sign on Highway 29, they are proposing a new electronic message board.
The WI DOT will not allow the new sign to be located where the current sign is. They would however approve it if it was located on City property, which is approx. 275 feet to the west of the current sign. The message board would advertise county wide events as well. The council approved the electronic message board, contingent with Zoning approval, to be located on City property.
Owen's Mayor also announced that the City has been awarded $500,000 of CDBG funds for the lift station and E. 4th Street project to take place next year and the council approved the new hitching post to be built by the Dollar General in a new location in the alley next to the Dollar General.
