Employment Matters and More at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed employment matters and more at their recent meeting.The Board unanimously approved the retirement of Heidi Bower from her aide position. The Board thanks Heidi for her years of service to the students and the district. The board also unanimously approved a contract for Avery Seubert as a third grade teacher.
District Administrator Bob Houts presented the two approaches to reducing the achievement gap and improve student achievement. Currently, Owen-Withee is a part of the SAGE, or Student Achievement Guarantee in Education program. The district can get a one year extension to remain in SAGE or they can move to the AGR, or Achievement Gap Reduction, program which goes into effect this school year. The Board unanimously approved switching to the AGR program for the 2015-16 school year.
