Neillsville City Council Hears Connect Communities Comittee Report

-The Neillsville City Council heard the committee report from the first Connect Communities Committee meeting.The meeting was held on August 3rd. They created and adopted a mission statement that reads: "Our mission is to initiate a creative and successful approach to revitalizing downtown Neillsville." They also discussed their budget. A proposed budget included $350 for supplies and expenses, $150 for postage, $2,000 for conference and travel and $500 for programs, equaling a total budget of $3,000. The committee approved sending the requested budget to Economic Development.
They also discussed finding volunteer coordinators for various projects, selected a tentative schedule for the kickoff event, heard an overview of the executive director training and discussed developing a logo and catchphrase to get the word out about the Connect Communities Program. Also, during the regular common council meeting, the council approved the resignation of Hope Rendell from the Grants Committee.
