Marshfield Man Involved with Packer's Ticket Scam Sentenced

Friday, August 7th, 2015 -- 10:10 AM

-A Marshfield man involved in a Packer's ticket scam was sentenced for the incident in Wood County Court on Thursday.

Patrick Blachut was arrested after he offered to sell people Packers tickets at businesses in Marshfield and Wisconsin Rapids. By the time he was arrested, most of the victims' money was gone as Blachut lost it gambling, had given it to family and paid some bills. He also scammed people in the Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls area. The scam began to unravel after the people went to Lambeau Field to get the tickets and there were none.

Earlier this year, Blachut entered a no contest plea to the charges against him. He was found guilty of 4 felony false representation charges and 5 misdemeanor false representation charges. 3 other felony false representation charges and 3 other misdemeanor false representation charges were dismissed and read in due to a plea agreement. In the end, the judge sentenced him to 3 years in prison, nine years of extended supervision and he owes the victims $45,242.

Blachut entered a guilty plea to similar charges in Eau Claire County where he scammed more people. However, as long as he meets all the terms of the agreement reached, no conviction will be entered.
