Deer Feeding Banned in Clark County
Sunday, August 2nd, 2015 -- 6:48 AM
(AP) -The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has banned deer feeding and hunting over bait here in Clark County as well as Jackson and Eau Claire counties after a doe died of chronic wasting disease at a Fairchild-area deer farm. The ban took effect yesterday. The doe died earlier this month. State law requires these bans in counties that fall within a 10-mile radius of a confirmed case of chronic wasting disease. Authorities are investigating how the doe got chronic wasting disease.
You can still feed small animals like birds, but you must make sure your feeders are not accessible by deer.
