Sunday, April 18th, 2021 -- 9:01 AM

The Granton Village Board began their recent meeting by allowing public comment on two ordinances.

According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the ordinances regarded Recycling and Composting and Recycling and Composting Compliance. There was no public comment or concern regarding proposed ordinances and they were approved as written.

First Responders presented the board with their 2020 budget review. They also reviewed their response log noting that they responded to 23 calls in the Village. The board had a tour of the Response Unit and was able to see the new automatic CPR device in action.

They will be working with the owner to get this taken care of before the debris washes into the sewer system.  They also set up the park and campground for summer and did spring clean up at the cemetery.

They located 4 sewer line breaks in the park under the concession building. They will be working with Suda Plumbing to access and repair the break in the next month.

The Board also heard the Sewer Report recap.  They purchased a trolling motor for the boat to assist with the chemical treatment in pond 3,sSprayed chemicals on pond 3 and began discharging on April 5th.

They met with Xcel regarding a sewer hook up at 337 Oak, they’re researching DNR approved chemical holding tanks, and set up the generator for weekly test runs at Well 5.
