Clark County Fairest of the Fair Contestants, Part 4 Candidate Brittany Barth
Monday, July 27th, 2015 -- 10:10 AM
-Clark County has four contestants running for Fairest of the Fair this year. The new candidates will replace the outgoing court of Kelsey Rueth as Fairest of the Fair, Katarina Nemitz as 1st attendant and Shania Gorton as 2nd attendant.
The next candidate I spoke with was Brittany Barth of Neillsville and she's sponsored by Drescher Oil Company. Brittany explained why she's running for Fairest of the Fair.
"I want to run for Fairest of the Fair because I have the experience with Miss Neillsville. I was the 2nd princess of 13-14 year. And I really, really liked that experience. Getting to go out and meet new people, represent Neillsville, experience new things. Like, I've never been to Warrens. That was awesome! And I think, as running for Fairest of the Fair, I'll get even more experience being that it's for county instead of just a small town. And I think that it will just be cool to meet all these other girls."
She also told me what she's looking forward to in this process of running and if she's selected.
"I'm looking forward to being a role model to the younger girls and even the girls that really aren't that much younger than me. Just to show them that you can do anything if you want to. And show them that you can be a shy person and you can run for something that you think is crazy and be on court and meet all these awesome girls. I was actually really good friends with Shania, when I was in elementary school, and we lost touch. And through running for Miss Neillsville, I actually met up with her again and we became close again."
The Fairest of the Fair Coronation is being held Wednesday, August 5th at 7:30pm at the Clark County Fairgrounds. The event is open to the public with refreshments to follow. And we'll have a special live interview with all the candidates on 107.5 WCCN on that Wednesday, around 4pm.
