(AP) -Unemployment rates increased in most Wisconsin cities and counties in June. The state Department of Workforce Development reported the latest figures Wednesday.Unemployment rates increased in 27 out of 32 of the state's largest cities. Unemployment rates went up in 51 of 72 counties. Clark County had an unemployment rate of 4.2% for June. That's a slight decrease from May's 4.6% and lower than June of 2014's 5.5%. Clark County is ranked 59th out of Wisconsin's 72 counties for the lowest unemployment rate.
For our surrounding counties, Chippewa is at 4.6%, Eau Claire at 4.3%, Jackson at 4.7%, 5.8% for Wood, 4.3% for Marathon and 4% for Taylor. The local unemployment rates are not seasonally adjusted and therefore not comparable to the state unemployment rate which was 4.6 percent in June.
