Clark County Fairest of the Fair Contestants, Part 1 Current Fairest of the Fair Kelsey Rueth

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2015 -- 12:22 PM

-Clark County has four contestants running for Fairest of the Fair this year.

The new candidates will replace the outgoing court of Kelsey Rueth as Fairest of the Fair, Katarina Nemitz as 1st attendant and Shania Gorton as 2nd attendant.

I spoke with the outgoing Fairest of the Fair and she told me about her busy year.

"I've had a really busy year. I started last August at the Clark County Fair and I have been so busy ever since. I had a little bit of a break over winter, but we've done parades, we've done queen coronations all over the county. We got the chance to go to the Brown County Fairest of the Fair Coronation and Gala in April. And that was in Green Bay so that was a lot of fun just to see how different counties do their coronation. And then, starting back in May, we have been doing parades every single weekend, but its been a lot of fun, just meeting so many people."

She also talked about how she feels as her year comes to an end.

"It's really bitter-sweet. Like I said, its been so much fun, but I'm excited for the new girls to take over."

Finally, Kelsey offered these words of advice to the current candidates.

"I know they're probably all really nervous and they will be the day of the coronation too, but they just need to stay relaxed and know that their year is going to be a lot of fun. And it's just a really great experience for all the girls that are running."

And speaking of the current candidates, running this years is Kaitlin Artac of Greenwood sponsored by Dutch Dairy, Shania Gorton of Loyal sponsored by Grassland Dairy Products, Brittney Barth of Neillsville sponsored by Drescher Oil Company and Cassie Pettit of Chili sponsored by Nasonville Dairy.
